The Kite Flyer #1180

From the hilltop meadow his hand built dragon kite writes calligraphy above the skyline. A crowd of strangers all looks up at once, which he considers payment. //----------- THE MARKS On October 6 THE CENSUS RELEASE was cut from 6,666 to 1,111. Five thousand five hundred and fifty five painted New Yorkers were seen, painted, numbered and then left off the count. THE MARKS are 150 of them. A census taker counts in tally marks: four strokes and a slash. These New Yorkers carry the mark instead of the number. This is Mark 018 of 150. The mint order was shuffled once before the drop and published, so nobody, the artist included, picked who got which. Every Mark is revealed the moment it is minted. //----------- MOVES.
