We are children of a broken world riddled with betrayal, performative politicians and relationships. Fake care and hope is weaponised to cover up the lies and rot underneath the masks they wear. It reflects on how institutions or public figures present friendly facade that masks their greed and harmful intentions. The painting mocks our spectacle-driven society which continues to believe in the fake facade and fall for the lies. Reflecting on how we are more inclined to fall for performative alliances that are formed not out of trust or solidarity, but out of convenience and personal gain that benefits them. How they are ever ready to betray the hope the people place on them again and again.
