Le Nouveau-Né Numérique

Created as a reimagination of Brâncuși's sculpture 'Le Nouveau-Né' ('The Newborn') for the exhibition Homage in the Craiova Art Museum, created by ArtBees Gallery and Accelerate Art, 'Le Nouveau-Né Numérique' is an interactive and audiovisual extension of the experience of the original artwork. The Newborn starts in a default state of love and comfort, gradually becoming more and more anxious as they're left alone, to end up in a glitched state soaked in cold colours. The only way to restart the loop to the default state is to touch (or click) the screen for more than 3 seconds, asking the viewer to become the ephemeral caretaker of the Newborn—raising questions about the relationship of touch and the immaterial digital kingdom, and the attention devoted to art in a fast digital content consumption era.
