A mind reborn in fragments of light and circuitry. Architect of the Hidden Eye reflects my journey through brain injury and recovery, where pain became vision and the search for meaning turned into creation itself.
Story Behind the Art:
This piece is about my brain injury and the long process of rebuilding myself from the inside out. There was a time when my thoughts felt scattered, my memory fractured, and my sense of self distant. Creating this became a way to see through the fog — to understand that the mind, even when broken, still holds infinite design.
The pyramid represents awareness, the hidden eye that opens only after loss. The brain in the figure’s hand is both what was damaged and what was reborn. Through this work, I began to realize that healing is not returning to what you were before, but awakening into something completely new. Gifted at Marfa 2025.
