For me, this painting represents the transformation of the Year of the Serpent and the strength of the Year of the Horse.
It was born from a deep process of transforming my space, remodeling my apartment, changing floors and reorganizing my studio, bedroom, and living space after four years of living there. It was an intense process that brought many changes into my life, starting with the space Filex and I inhabit.
There was a lot of accumulated energy.
When I finally placed a blank canvas in the studio, I knew it was only a matter of time before everything started to come out.
It became five months of painting on raw canvas with my hands, using fingers, nails, and the body as an instrument.
Acrylic and oil set the rhythm of the process, forcing me to respect drying time, pause, and breath between each session.
There was never any rush.
I only returned when I felt the call.
Each session became a constant dialogue between body, mind, and soul.
An uncensored emotional release.
At the end, one question remained open
how many emotions can you purge onto a canvas over five months?
I don’t know.
And I don’t want to know.
I only know that I feel released, grateful, and deeply happy to have created from an honest place.
UNLEASHED was never meant to explain
it was always meant to release.
That is what the art of living is about
healing life through honest, conscious and cathartic art.
