Every day starts somewhere. For some people, it starts with a meeting or a phone call. For others, it starts with work that many people never get to see. Before the roads become busy and before the noise fills the air, there are people already going about their day.
This piece is about those first moments of the morning. A woman stands by the water, washing clothes while the world around her carries on. The birds, the trees, the water, and the open field all become part of that moment. It is a simple scene, but it says a lot about everyday life.
I made this work because I believe these moments deserve to be seen too. We often wait for something big before we stop and pay attention, but some of the most meaningful parts of life happen in ordinary routines. Before the day begins for everyone else, a new day has already begun for someone.
