Created in my studio in Manchester, New Hampshire in March 2026, this self-portrait video continues my practice of building entire worlds from the inside out. The figure in this work feels suspended between vulnerability and performance: part doll, part survivor, part futuristic relic stepping out from behind a curtain into an unstable reality.
The costume is central to the piece and was designed by me as an essential extension of the character itself. I’m always interested in collapsing the line between photography, sculpture, fashion, set-building, and performance—turning self-portraiture into a form of total world construction. Nothing is incidental. The silhouette, the mask-like face, the restrained movement, the unsettling theatricality: all of it is part of a language I build by hand.
What matters to me is not only the final image, but the devotion behind it—the designing, constructing, styling, embodying, and filming of an invented being that could only exist through labor and imagination. In this work, the body becomes both vehicle and artifact. The character emerges slowly, almost ceremonially, as if carrying the emotional weight of another dimension.
This piece is about transformation, fiction, and the power of self-invention. By placing myself inside these constructed identities, I’m not hiding—I’m revealing something through disguise that could not be expressed any other way.
