The greatest legacy is that of Jesus. He knew beforehand that he would be dying for the whole world. During his years on earth, he performed so many significant miracles and faced numerous condemnations from those who were supposed to defend him—the high priests. They didn't even recognize him as the savior, even though they spent most of their lives studying and looking forward to his arrival. People from his hometown didn't believe and even rejected him due to overfamiliarity and because he didn't come in a majestic way that best represents the "Messiah"; rather, he was born in a manger and as a carpenter's son. One of his disciples betrayed him, and even his most determined and loyal disciple denied him, yet he didn't turn away from his assignment on the cross due to all these challenges.
In some cases, God sends us a helper when we call on him for one, but we reject them because they don't look like the image nor fit into the prospect we have in our mind. We should remember: 1 Corinthians 1:28 GNT
"He chose what the world looks down on and despises and thinks is nothing, in order to destroy what the world thinks is important."
Most importantly, Jesus came to this world to die for our sins so that we can be guaranteed eternal life. It is only those who believe in him as the Son of God, confess their sins, and accept him as Lord and Savior who will partake in this eternal life.
You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.
