An interesting experiment made to test one of the filters included in the G'MIC-qt GIMP plugin.
This one uses the Layers Blend[Fade] filter, combining different layers by fading them according to either a formula or one of the predefined forms (This one uses the Circle option, and the effect is produced entirely by varying the Offset parameter by small increments !)
The other filter used for the return-to-start part is the Morph Layers filter.
