"North Korea is using and exploiting cryptocurrencies to bypass international regulators and help financially support its regime, a new report has revealed.....North Korean hackers have previously been blamed for a cyber attack on South Korean bitcoin exchange Youbit last year, which resulted in the theft of around $72 million-worth of cryptocurrency. This interest in cryptocurrency was further highlighted in 2017 when the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology invited foreign experts to lecture students on the technology.
The mining of cryptocurrency by hijacking foreign computers has also been attributed to North Korea, with the funds funnelled into the country through the state university. Earlier this year, researchers at cyber security firm AlienVault discovered the so-called 'cryptojacking' malware, saying cryptocurrency offered a "financial lifeline" to a regime hit hard by sanctions." Running his dictatorship in close relationships with Mainland China, Kim Jung is the real Slim Shady who may be the youngest and most brutal Dictator in the past century.
"Under the rule of Kim Jong-Un, North Korea remains among the world’s most repressive countries. The government sharply curtails all basic liberties, including freedom of expression, religion and conscience, assembly, and association. It prohibits political opposition, independent media, civil society, or trade unions. A 2014 UN Commission of Inquiry found that the government committed gross, systematic and widespread rights abuses, including extermination, murder, enslavement, torture, imprisonment, rape, forced abortions, and other sexual violence. North Korea operates secretive prison camps where perceived opponents of the government are sent to face torture, starvation rations, and forced labor. Fear of collective punishment is used to silence dissent." Extracted from the Human Rights Watch https://www.hrw.org/asia/north-korea

In 2014 a movie was published, "the Interview," which portrayed a comic view of life in the country and as a result the North Korean Regime...."Sony received criticism for canceling the wide release Guardian film critic Peter Bradshaw wrote that it was an "unprecedented defeat on American turf", but that "North Korea will find that their bullying edict will haunt them." In the Capital and Gizmodo suggested the cancellation caused a Streisand effect, whereby the attempt to remove or censor a work has the unintended consequence of publicizing it more widely. In a press conference, U.S. President Barack Obama said that though he was sympathetic to Sony's need to protect employees, he thought Sony had "made a mistake. We cannot have a society in which some dictator in some place can start imposing censorship in the United States. I wish they'd spoken to me first. I would have told them: do not get into the pattern in which you are intimidated." Extracted from Wikipedia.
