Invited to participate in the "SCARS" multimedia show, curated by @0xFunginon, in a foundation.com world, I embraced the metaphor of scars representing growth, character, and the shaping of our future. This concept inspired my exploration of past, present, and future as interconnected layers in multimedia art.
Concept:
The piece is a multidimensional journey through the time, weaving together various media in a layered narrative. The first layer represents the past with physical tools, the second embodies the present digital renaissance, and the future layer showcases AI-generated images/ videos inspired by future technologies.
To create "Few Years from Now," I began by structuring the artwork using a layer model, incorporating elements that encapsulate the essence of the past, present, and future. I employed a combination of digital tools (midjourney, chatgpt, photoshop, after effects, and garageband) and physical techniques (painting, casting, installation, and sculpture). A crucial component of the creative process was the integration of an eclectic sound layer featuring audio elements from various points in history. This sound layer evokes a sense of nostalgia while emphasizing the relentless evolution of technology and the passage of time, adding depth to the overall multimedia experience.
I hope to inspire viewers to live in the present moment, embracing the endless possibilities offered by our rapidly evolving world, and fostering a sense of empowerment in using technology to realize our dreams and aspirations.
The multimedia format allows for a deeper exploration of the concept of time, engaging multiple senses and providing an expansive range of creative possibilities.
