Memories

Time has stretched out ambiguously since the woman first came to this parallel world. Her heart has been lost, turned into a pear, and the search has gone on for such a long time that she doubted her vague memories of what it was like when she still had it. The woman transformed into the Cat with nine lives to quest on in her search. As the Cat, she could move and think in ways that no other form could. As she searched within the thoughts twisting towards her, she could remember many things and see the past and the future. The mysteries of the universe upended up to the Cat. Some of the memories she saw in the twisting were hers; some were not. Many shapes presented themselves to her, yet none of them was the heart she was seeking. Stars and galaxies hummed outside the door. The chaotic ringlets of the universe touched her hand and though she was calm, she wondered whether she’d ever find her essence again.
