Qarinah

The series “Sleep Paralysis” explores the liminal time of when the mind perceives hallucinations, creatures and objects that cannot be detected when it is completely awake. In “Qarinah” (2022), a resting white nude embraces a black cat/incubus intent on observing something that stays just outside the frame. Is it perceiving hallucinations itself?
