This is the story of Angelo, who was sent to an institution for children at the age of 3. He tells of his experiences in Alberto Gaino's book "l manicomio dei bambini".
I was tied to the bed or to the radiator when I was four. So I became a rebel. I didn't just run away.
I also answered with a raised voice. Coda, the electropsychiatrist, had arrived. He shocked me fifty-two times. I didn't remember how long they had been. I stole my medical records and it says that Coda made me put the rubber between my teeth and the two caps on my temples the whole time. To tell you the truth, and I remember this without consulting the papers, depending on how it turned, it gave me the electricity in my genitals, my spine, my kidneys as well as my head. He said to the nun, "Did he pee himself? Yep? Let's teach him not to do it any more".
Or it was enough that I had looked at him wrong. And it made me dizzy with fear before, but I tried not to show it. I was looking.
