Technobotanica - Volaluxa
Technobotanica - Volaluxa represents the latest phase of an ongoing explorational project dealing with speculative design concepts of hybrid bioforms. These cybernetic organisms establish a symbiotic bond with their environment, utilizing artificial electronic components to attain an enhanced functionality that supports nourishment, growth frameworks, and novel defense mechanisms.
The Volaluxa breed is known for its bioluminescent qualities, and symbiotic relationship with Luminara flies. Its name, inspired by the Latin "vola" for fly, highlights its unique ability to draw energy from the prey it attracts. The radiant, blue-hued glow of the Volaluxa roots is a product of a biochemical reaction that serves a dual purpose: it attracts nocturnal pollinators, ensures the species' propagation, and deters potential herbivores, mimicking the presence of larger predators.
