Ascending Judgement

"Ascending Judgement" offers a powerful exploration of inner conflict, perception, and transformation, set within a surreal, multi-layered landscape. The piece portrays a winding, fragmented staircase leading upwards, symbolizing an arduous journey of self-evaluation and awakening. Dominating the composition are abstracted faces and eyes, hidden in the complex layers of vibrant neon colors and intricate, swirling patterns, which represent the gaze of judgement—both internal and external—looming over the ascent.

The juxtaposition of cool blues with warm oranges and fiery reds creates a sense of tension, as though the viewer is caught between opposing forces. The stairs, broken and jagged, echo the uneven path of self-discovery, while the intricate details of the abstract faces signify the complexity of identity and the harshness of self-scrutiny. The bold, graphic lines and distortions in the image evoke a feeling of being pulled apart and reconstructed, suggesting the transformative power of judgement.

At the top of the stairs, there is no clear resolution, only a continuation of abstract forms, offering a commentary on how the climb towards understanding and acceptance is ongoing and never truly complete. "Ascending Judgement" invites viewers to reflect on their own journey of introspection and the weight of perception that shapes their path.

This visually complex piece speaks to the tension between progress and doubt, self-critique and enlightenment, encapsulated in a vibrant, distorted environment that feels at once overwhelming and enlightening.
