HOME IS A FREQUENCY explores home as an emotional and perceptual state rather than a physical location. Rooted in LUKO’s philosophy of Arte de Vivir, the work translates memory, belonging, identity and connection into an entirely digital painting where color, gesture and texture become carriers of lived experience.
Rather than depicting Colombia through recognizable symbols or landscapes, the work attempts to capture the feeling of Colombia: its warmth, rhythm, intensity, community and emotional memory. Layers of color and gestural movement coexist as fragments of a place carried within the body, suggesting that belonging can persist beyond geography.
Created entirely in digital form, the piece maintains the physical language of painting through expressive marks, layered textures, transparency, movement and controlled accidents. The digital medium becomes not a departure from LUKO’s painting practice, but an extension of it: another surface through which emotion can become visible.
Selected for the Beyond Perception curation and presented as part of Canal Street Show Vol. 6 in New York City, HOME IS A FREQUENCY invites us to look beyond what can be represented and toward what can only be felt.
Home is not always where we are.
Sometimes, it is the frequency we carry with us.
