The State
AWAKENING is where this journey begins.
For me, awakening has never been about finding an answer. It has been about becoming conscious enough to start asking better questions.
It is the moment when I begin to look inward and recognize the parts of myself I had been ignoring, silencing or simply moving too fast to notice.
The Inner Process
There was a point in my life when I realized I could no longer separate who I was from what I was creating.
Painting became a way of listening to myself.
Color became emotion. Gesture became instinct. The canvas became a place where thoughts, memories, fears, desires and fragments of my inner world could exist without needing to be explained.
AWAKENING comes from that realization: that healing and creating can become part of the same process.
To become conscious is also to become vulnerable. You begin to see your patterns, your wounds, your contradictions, your inner child, and the parts of yourself that still need love.
And once you see them, you cannot unknow them.
The Visual Language
Air is the element of this first phase.
It is my zodiac element, but beyond astrology, I see air as a metaphor for consciousness. It has no fixed form. It moves through everything. You cannot hold it, but you know when it is there.
The painting moves in the same way.
Forms emerge, collide, dissolve and breathe. Nothing is completely fixed. The image exists somewhere between chaos and clarity, instinct and awareness.
I did not want to illustrate awakening.
I wanted to paint the feeling of becoming aware.
The Journey
AWAKENING is the first threshold of Spiritual Journey, the beginning of a process that would unfold through five different states of being.
Before I could move, I had to become aware of what was moving inside me.
Before I could transform, I had to be willing to look at myself honestly.
This is where the journey starts.
Not with certainty.
With presence.
Closing Thought
Sometimes awakening is simply the moment you stop running from yourself and become curious enough to finally listen.
