The birth of Luciferina emerges from an exploration of the appropriation and reinterpretation of images from art history through a feminist lens. By revisiting a visual imaginary shaped during a time when women were denied access to formal artistic training, the work seeks to reclaim and redefine these images from a contemporary perspective, taking ownership of a visual territory historically denied to women.
Female figures break free from their traditionally assigned roles to become hybrid, mutant, and spiritual entities. Suspended between the human and the fantastic, they embody processes of transformation that challenge conventional notions of identity, power, and the body.
The painting is made with oil on canvas. The collector can collect the physical too for an additional price.
