Firestone

A firestone is known for its ability to withstand high temperatures and intense heat, qualities that I found myself longing for during a difficult time in my life back in 2017. As I stood in narrow corridors, looking up from the bottom of Antelope Canyon, the rich orange hue of the Navajo Sandstone reminded me of a firestone and gave me hope. For a week, I had felt betrayed and alone, screaming for help on the inside without reaching out to anyone. Over the next few months, I drew on the resilience of the firestone as a source of inspiration and motivation. Slowly, I began to rise on my own, pulling myself from the underground instead of waiting for a hand to bring me up, grounding myself in the present and finding the strength to face the future.
