Sorollista Kong

Made from bits of paintings by Joaquin Sorolla, this collage has been created using my long standing artistic practice. Following free association techniques to create a collage from a single source of material, each collage piece has been expressively cut, stretched, folded and sculpted in three dimensional space. Simple animation and lighting techniques then help to tell the story of Sorollista Kong Best known for his masterful ability to capture even the most ephemeral glimpse of light from the gloomy shadows, Joaquin Sorolla filled his canvasses with iridescent skin tones, cascading clothing and atmospheric portraits. His romantic paintings couldn’t appear further removed from the world of computer gaming.
