The imposing North Face of Mt Loki (2,779 m or 9,117 ft) in late spring. Loki Peak takes its name from the old Norse trickster, a fitting tribute for a mountain whose mood can change in minutes.
I took this shot after an energy-sapping slog (6+ hours) through deep, wet snow to reach this position. After evaluating the size of the wet snow cornices along the remaining ridgeline, together with the strengthening winds and approaching storm, I gave up any hope of summiting and decided to use what little time I had left to capture this image with my drone before making a hasty retreat.
