HEAT WAVE

Being an admirer of Salvator Dali, I’ve always been fascinated by his iconic melting clocks and how he rejected logic, reason and natural order in his dreamlike paintings, distorting space and time. With recent record-breaking temperatures warning us about climate change and its associated risks to human and environmental health, I tilted this piece « Heat Wave ». This work is paying tribute to the master by reinterpreting his painting « Soft Self-Portrait with Grilled Bacon » 1941. Here I put an egg, symbol of new life, hope and fertility, represented melting.
