This artwork is a blend of techniques. It begins with a digitally edited stroke to generate pressure-sensitive circles on the screen. These circles form the basis for portraying the visage of an ethereal being, evoking an expression of calm serenity. Afterwards, the image is transferred onto paper, utilizing the deepest hues available and poured the blackest paint I had over its surface. The final touches are etched with a fine point pen, only once the paint has fully dried. The physical artwork was sold years ago in Venice Beach and now resides somewhere in Los Angeles. However, I still have images of it. I have chosen to keep a record of its details to remind myself that its creation allowed me to experience the same feeling I sought to express, relaxation. This, in turn, reminds me that sometimes the intentions I put into a fictional character are the ones I experience emotionally and intellectually during the creative process, a kind of mirror effect: It's like that law that says: Each person gives what they receive and then receives what they give. So, we need to be aware of that as artists, as imaginative people, because it can either help us or destroy us.
I named it "Un carnal bien relax," a Mexican way of saying "A very chill guy."
