About the Location: Lençóis Maranhenses National Park is a park in Maranhão state in northeastern Brazil. It is a unique place in the world: a mixture of pristine desert landscapes of dunes and oases with crystal clear natural lagoons. This trip consists of an adventure that brings all the richness and essence of this place. In 2018, I spent five days traveling across this landscape from Canto de Atins to Santo Amaro. There were roughly 50 miles of dune walking and hammock-sleeping through the native-inhabited oases. A really singular adventure that leaves behind great memories, friends, images and much more respect for the power of nature.
