Centrepiece

The rain came down for days and the air was heavy and dark. She dusts off her grandmothers heirloom planter pausing for a moment to remember her paper-like skin, as fragile as the flower petals themselves, fingers moving with grace and speed as she prepares the Spring centrepiece. Her smell fills the room. When the rain stops and the sun shines, I’ll fill this empty vessel with love once again.
