Temporary Permanence

‘Excessize’ collection of 12 unique works which served as a precursor to the award-winning series ‘Life in West America’, offers a critical depiction of American consumerism and the fast food culture. Created in 2022, Rainisto employs the visual style of vintage Americana photography and the capabilities of early custom finetuned diffusion models. Each piece captures the post-war United States atmosphere, examining mass production, overconsumption, excess and food uniformity. It draws parallels between the mass production of fast food and AI’s emphasis on efficiency and scalability, suggesting a trend towards cultural and creative homogenization.
