GalatΞa

A dynamic piece inspired by the myth of Pygmalion. In Greek mythology, Pygmalion was a sculptor who created a statue of a woman that was so beautiful that he fell in love with it. He named the statue Galatea. The goddess Venus brought the statue to life and it became Pygmalion's wife. Pygmalion's love and devotion to his art had been rewarded. A drawing that comes alive at night. As the hours of the day pass, the drawing becomes more detailed and lifelike, until it is almost indistinguishable from a photograph. This artwork is a meditation on the passage of time and the power of art to capture and represent the world around us. It is a testament to the enduring human desire to create and bring our visions to life, and it invites the viewer to marvel at the magic of creation. On the primary market sale, all bidders will receive an airdrop: an edition of a preliminary sketch of the piece, the portrait of Galatea. Five editions will go to the collector of the piece, and five will go to the person who collected my most recent 1/1.
