In the past few years, I have found myself dissociating more and more. This list of things I have to do gets longer each day, as the list of things I’ve done feel smaller and smaller. What I want for tomorrow feels more important than what I have today. From this, I have trouble staying grounded in the present. My mind goes elsewhere as I’m a part of people’s best moments. With friends, family, work, people, and myself, I feel like I’m never there. When I intentionally create space to focus on the moment, it’s all short lived. I can only give so much before my mind wanders to the future.
