Ely Cathedral's quire is a prime example of Early English Gothic architecture, constructed in the 13th century, the space features a tall arcade of pointed arches, which supports the triforium and clerestory levels. The vaults, similar to those in the nave, are ribbed and feature ornate bosses at their intersections.
