They Saved The Sun Together
This work is a tribute to the often unseen battle that artists and their partners endure while chasing a dream that barely pays, often drains, and rarely makes sense to the world around them. The skeleton represents my former self — stripped bare, fragile but still fighting. The dripping black figure is my partner, molded by patience and pain, carrying her own wounds yet flying beside me — armed, alert, and unapologetically strong.
Both figures leap through the sky with purpose, aiming not to conquer, but to protect the one thing that still gives us meaning — the sun — a metaphor for hope, creativity, and the fragile warmth of our shared purpose. The sun doesn’t need saving from enemies, but from apathy, from burnout, from giving up.
This piece isn’t about war — it’s about partnership in resistance.
