Glad to introduce the next piece in Word. series on SuperRare and this time we are going back in time to 1687 London, England to explore Issac Newton groundbreaking publication Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy) monumental text laid the foundation for classical mechanics, offering a comprehensive explanation of motion and gravity that transformed scientific understanding and deeply impacted human perception of the universe.
This digital interpretation brings to life Newton’s assertions: that all bodies, however minute, are subject to gravitational attraction. Each letter, though small, contributes to the mound at the base, embodying the idea of universal gravity. This collective mass of letters emphasizes the universality and cumulative nature of knowledge, represented by the weight of the entire work condensed into a single, powerful visual statement.
-- Over a period of 33 days, the Word. collection will evolve daily to encompass various historically significant texts, each rendered into unique visual representations through an evolving generative algorithm. Each piece serves as a focal point, capturing moments where written words have irrevocably altered the course of human evolution in various languages and from different cultures and eras.
