COZOMOSAIC 365

in 2023 I saw a post that amused me. Someone had spent a whole year sending DMs to Cozomo Medici, and on the final day Cozomo sent back a simple GM. Something about that story gave me such a wry amusement, that all of that dedication, of messaging for a whole year, turned up such a simple result. I thought to myself. I will do something like that, but with my art, I'll share 365 works of art with Cozomo Medici, spread out over a year, and then maybe at the end, he will give some recognition. I even remember writing the first gm post, I was out at the beach on my lunch break from the photo studio I work at. I shared a piece I was particularly proud of and Cozomo Medici replied within the hour and said back GM. I thought well now I have to commit to this. Over the course of a year I used my daily GM art share posts in a diaristic way, I would share my experiments, I would create work that was a journal of how I felt on that day, or in that moment. I would respond to big happenings in the scene occasionally. Most of all I tried to have as much fun as I could with it. Now we are at the culmination of that project, with my 365th post I decided to make something special. Contained within this super resolution image is every image from every post over the year, making up a mosaic image, that in itself was also upscaled over and over to a super resolution, so that it's details could carry over through the images. In a year since starting this project, as an artist I have grown. I have launched successful series, I have met people I would say were (and still are my heroes) I have exhibited all around the world. All of these things have been massive art career strides, that have been achieved since starting this 365 project.
