First documented in the Ashmole Bestiary, Oxford, this geometric wyvern-serpent was said to manifest when moonlight & silver converged upon consecrated ground. Scholars of the 10th Century warned that to gaze upon it unprepared would rearrange the viewer's understanding of natural order. Its form, rendered here in geometric lattice, persists as proof that certain visions survive the death of their witnesses.
