The learned monks who catalogued this specimen insisted it appeared only during liminal hours, when the boundary between codex and creation grew thin. Composed of emerald & thorn, the Cathedral Gargoyle Bat was observed near the Distributed Ledger of Lost Beasts, though its true habitat may lie in dimensions the medieval mind had no geometry to describe. It has been faithfully preserved in gothic tracery, though the original scribe is said to have wept upon completing it.
