This clockwork manticore-peacock was catalogued by an unknown illuminator whose marginalia suggest they considered it the most dangerous specimen in the bestiary — not because of venom or claw, but because of the ideas it implants in those who study it too closely. It radiates neon & phosphor and has been sighted near the Workshop of the Très Riches Heures. The illuminated manuscript rendering preserves something the original scribe could only gesture toward.
