First documented in the Marginalia of the Luttrell Psalter, this bubble gum dragon was said to manifest when prism & chromatic converged upon consecrated ground. Scholars of the 14th Century warned that to gaze upon it unprepared would rearrange the viewer's understanding of natural order. Its form, rendered here in illuminated manuscript, persists as proof that certain visions survive the death of their witnesses.
