This piece of art breathes life into a moment suspended in time, a visual ode to the essence of Ignazio Silone's "A Handful of Blackberries."
Here, Rocco and Martino engage in a profound conversation, perched on a rocky precipice along the dusty road, lost in their deep conversation.
Having immersed myself in Silone's narrative years ago, the vivid recollection of this particular scene lingered in my mind—a testament to the enduring power of literature.
The need to translate the palpable emotions I felt during that reading into a visual form became paramount.
Thus, this artwork serves as my homage to the indelible connection between literature and imagination, where the lines between reality and fiction blur.
