A mixed-media artwork that blends ancient legends with the vibrant spirit of Jamaican culture. Using photography, pixelation, glitch effects, 3D modeling, and collage, this piece captures the mystical beauty of the Blue Lagoon and its folklore through a self-portrait character evolution.
The artwork reimagines the legendary hidden dragon of the lagoon, merging its myth with the colorful essence of the island.
The piece features a vivid, retro-inspired color palette that evokes Jamaica's tropical beauty, growth, and nostalgia of personal discovery. It also pays tribute to the poem "Song of The Banana Man," connecting its folklore to the dragon legend through subtle, poetic pixel elements and reflection within layers of empathy.
