What fascinates me about this series of works is that it happened naturally. Without any code at all, neither artistic nor software. Just a conversation with machines that had already learned my visual language from my archive.
This "seed" at the center of the work comes from GAN models trained on my xerox archive. That origin becomes invisible, dissolved into layers of typographic halftones, ink stains and geometric compressions that spread from the center and dissolve at the edges. It reminds me of something geological and architectural at the same time. Like a cross-section of something that accumulated until it had no choice but to expand.
I made many works like these, some time ago, trying to push to the breaking point. They will be irreproducible, not because I chose that, but because the tools that made them possible no longer exist in the same form.
Time, error, machines. I always end up here.
