First in a series of works loosely inspired by mandalas, kaleidoscopes, and Marcel Duchamp's 1935 Optical Rotoreliefs (Optical Discs). The imagery is appropriated from Hieronymus Bosch paintings and then abstracted through replication into circular rings using the Processing programming language. In an unusually stressful year, these meditational works are a contemplative exercise for the artist and hopefully for the viewer as well.
