The Sixth Finger. Polydactyly is, by modern standards, considered a medical anomaly. It has previously been recognized as an element of God, as angelic beings carried six fingers on each hand and six wings on their bodies (two covering the face, two covering the feet and two on the back).
This sculpture is based on the scan of a real - and fully developed - case of polydactyly, rarely found on an adult human today.
