Harvesting

Surviving after the event. Harvesting breathable air. This piece is greatly inspired by living in Japan during the Tohoku Great Earthquake and the following Tsunami and the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster of 2011. Watching news during those days after the disaster. It was saying that over a third of Japan would become inhabitable in case of the nuclear plant would collapse and contaminate the environment. Those events provoked thoughts of what the future might look like. Side note: I also took several months of time of from any other creative work at the time to focus on this and push my self creatively. Almost everything is created from scratch with 3D techniques and 3D scanning. Also inspired by the likes of Kawase Hasui and the Shin-Hanga woodcut prints of the early 20th-century Japan.
