Cthulhu Ascending

Number 3; This is my interpretation of the immensely popular H.P. Lovecraft creation and the third in the series of nine. It has taken roughly 20 years from opening Photoshop for the first time to get to the point where I can technically pull off a painting like this. The design is simply my take on the classic Cthulhu octopus head and the location was a photo I took of 'Black Beach' in Iceland a few years ago. Standing on that beach the vision of this gigantic creature stepping out of the ocean was as clear as day.
