Cthulhu Awakens

Number 2; This is my interpretation of the immensely popular H.P. Lovecraft creation and the second one in the series of nine. I think it's safe to say this is the most popular painting I've ever done with over 65 million views and 1,4 million likes on Twitter alone. It's been used as reference for upcoming film and TV productions, been publicized in books and articles and spread across the internet in a way I could have never imagined. It took almost 2 months (on and off) to finish. By far the longest I’ve ever spent on a painting. The goal was as simple as it was challenging - to achieve the feeling of true cosmic horror in the spirit of H.P. Lovecraft. The existential crisis we might face upon realizing our insignificance, but also the visual reminder of standing strong in the face of insurmountable odds.
