"Lakshmi, the goddess of beauty and prosperity has an older sister: Alakshmi, the goddess of poverty and misery. To worship Lakshmi without also worshipping her sister is a one sided pursuit, exemplified by extremes of indulgence, without taking into account the inevitable darkness of existence. They go together: Without Alakshmi, Lakshmi cannot be." - B.Savrishna, Reflections////
