An Aphrodite holds a warrior soul. She is the embodiment of love and freedom. With her vintage-style hair and clothes, ‘Ocean Aphrodite’ is illuminated by the reflection from a Hellenistic horse statuette held in her hands. Reclining on a striped mat, the fluidity of the digital painting alludes to the fluidity of time, between a woman then, far-back-then, and now. This piece is presented in the SuperRare exhibition “A lot of what I’m about to tell you is made up”. It is the second in a series of Aphrodites released on SuperRare. Dissolving ancient and modern time, the Aphrodites are reflective of my feeling that technology carries its own obsolescence, is perhaps already a ruin. Painted on Procreate on iPad Air3 combined with hand-drawn elements.
