These digital works are an extension of a body of physical works which manifest as a reflection of the artist’s environment, each image presented as if the stage of a play, inhabited with a cast of familiar characters. The characters are not portraits as such, more like actors that play a role, filling in for particular people on her stage. This set reflects the psychological locations that she inhabits and those that inhabit her.
'Sightings of the Beast of the Bodmin Moores' started as an original Painting and has been further advanced digitally where it stands separately as a unique image, yet formally the drawing and the build up of transparent layers still characterise the work.
It presents an image depicting the landscape of the British folklore myths and legends home to the Beast of Bodmin, where whilst roaming on the Cornish Moores, the mysterious shape of a phantom cat can be sighted. He lingers behind a blond haired figure draping over the ancient stone sites at the top of the Moors, yet unaware of the paw prints about to reveal themselves at the end of the summers sun.
