This unique artwork was created by Mat Maitland to benefit the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the non-profit founded in Freddie Mercury's memory to help fight AIDS worldwide. Mat Maitland is a collage artist based in London. His distinctive surrealist-pop images and films have been commissioned by a wide range of clients including Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Kenzo, Bulgari, Emporio Armani, Chloe, Tate Gallery, MAC Cosmetics, Apple and Nike. His images have also been featured in various magazines including Interview, Self Service, Dazed Beauty, V, King Kong, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue Japan, Paper and Vanity Fair. Mat is also creative director of Big Active Design where he has art directed and designed music campaigns and images for Michael Jackson, Prince, Beck, Goldfrapp, Basement Jaxx, Elton John, Lana Del Rey, Galantis and Mark Ronson among many others.
