For this series, realistic life-sized children's mannequins were staged against a white background as selfassured models, or mini-stars. Their ideal physical perfection, their poses and gestures are like the promise of happiness. If only it wasn't for their artificiality, the way they appear lost within the space, their vacant blank staring eyes, and the uniformly black clothing. All of which reflects a loss of individuality, the sense of commodification, and the pressure that role models exert.
